Did the 6.5s bolt straight in to the front?? I have a ba with premo. I assume it would be the same as bf.

If this is a straight up swap I will be doing it for sure, but with the 5x7 typs s in the rear like u said!

You just need to use a 6.5 to 5x7 adapter plate, and they'll fit straight in no probs. The adapter plates look like this:

They are the same shape as your stock 5x7's so they can mount straight onto the door, but have the cut-out for a 6.5" speaker. You can fit a bigger speaker in the rear too (I currently have a 6 inch speaker in there but don't like the sound of it)only thing is the grilles from the parcel shelf will be resting on your tweeters. This isn't really an issue, they won't pop off or anything, but it may bother some people. I'm just gonna put in some 5x7's as the rears aren't as important as the front anwyay given that I hardly ever have any passengers in the rear, and they'll bolt straight in. Haven't gotten around to doing it though.

with the fronts, did you just use the existing wiring in the doors and pillar, or rewire and use the crossovers that came with the alpines?

Also, how close did the alpines come to interfering with the window or door skin? much room in there? and is there much room before it gets close

to the trim?

Thanks,

Dave

Hey Dave,

Needed to run new wires and use the cross-over from the alpines.

I can't remember too well what the clearance was like to be honest, but I'm pretty sure there was more than enough room in there. You should be fine with most 6/6.5" speakers. The door trim is pretty easy to get off man, so maybe just take it off and have a quick look.

nah man the factory amp is only for the sub. The wires just go to the cross-over. The tweeters that come with the Alpine's are a similar size to the stock ones, so they fit in just fine. Just re-use the existing bracket from the stock tweeters. They are secured with pop rivets so you'll need to drill em out then use new pop rivets. I think the tweeter was secured to the bracket via a small screw at the back.

ah yeah sorry, I do recall reading its a sub only amp

so with the fronts, did you run new wires from the ICC?

I'm not sure if the crossover for the stock splits is built into the ICC, or seperate that's all, so just wondering where the full range signal comes from?

Do you have any wiring diagrams that show which colour wires to look out for?

Contemplating upgrading the stock speakers with something low power/ high sensitivity and then run a seperate sub an amp in a proper box, that can be removed easily.
