latest street ford mag, they ran a high 12 stock. it's the mag with the black and silver xy falcon on the cover, and a special on upgrading ba/bf/fg xr's. not bad reading on modifying our cars. it ran 12.92 @113.99, and was a 6 speed manual. all pics are over at the streetfords site. they ran the car on a dyno and got 353rwks. and that's stock, check it out yourself.

The GS is still povo mate and the GT is a fair bit more coin than your F6. In all honesty, if buying right now, I'd go a GS but spec it up with premo sound and if possible, brembos. The body kit thing doesn't bother me.

The 380rwkw GS that ran its 11.7 has ONLY DONE ONE PASS. But its MPH was through the roof. 135+ from memory. and that's the bit that doesnt lie.

Sorry but the new 5L sh*ts all over the F6 if your after power.

there was no MPH on that run on the time slip and the Autotech car has gone faster 11.5 @ 121 mph

121mph and good run clean launch with 400rwkw.... well its been done with higher MPH and lower ET on a small turbo FG 11.38 @ 122mph on 360rwkw

like I said, big numbers that arent backed up

I agree very impressive numbers tune only and tune catback etc... but they still are on par with a 6t with more than 50rwkw less

The 'Grand Tourer' is exactly that. I don't think it's market or purpose is 1/4 mile sprints, but I get the comparison. The biggest problem for it and any T for that matter IMO is the dunflops. I can't wait to scrub mine. I suspect it would hurt the GS/GT even more as there's no lag. Around a circuit, I think it (GT) would (and should) dust off a F6 comfortably. The GS might also, for a lap or two, until it parkes itself in the sand pit with no brakes, LOL.

so stop licking your wombs

WTF?

HAHAHAHA!! Woops, shows me why I shouldn't be replying at 3am in the morning.. wounds people, wounds.. my mistake :)

Stepping away from this conversation now simply because I feel silly comparing a V8 S/C to a i6 Turbo.. Both are Ford, go kick some Expensive Daewoo asses :)

Completely off the mark in my opinion. Tune the F6 all you want, you'll need to upgrade piping, intercooler, air induction, the lot for it to make 400rwkw, unlike the GT that can do that stock under the bonnet with a tune. Sure, both of them will need more parts when more power is required, but your theory of a "tune only" is incorrect.

Why don't we see stock GT's down the 1/4 mile? Because people who run these cars down the quarter are probably chasing power and good times, and thus, have already tuned the de-tuned coyote, because it's the first thing people do along with the exhaust.

How can the F6 be "deliberately" turned down when the GT came out AFTER? Sure, there's a lot they can do to give it more power, but it's always been about the V8's having the top mark, simply because of marketing values. When people think Ford or Holden, they think big muscle V8's (which is silly, in my opinion) - I still believe the Turbo outshines the GT, so stop licking your wombs because we know the turbo is still king (even though reviews don't make it seem so, again, a marketing strategy).

I've had the FG XR6T, and soon will be owning the GT 335 (this Saturday), and the only reason why I bought it was because I wanted something different. Sure, the F6 was $15k less, but I've done the turbo, driven it, had fun with it.. it's time for a change.

I think time for FG series II - period. Agree with comments about the GT. The turbo falc has been too good in a way - robbing V8 sales. Ford needed some distance between the V8 and 6 performance models so I doubt you will ever see the F6 making = or more power / torque ever again. It's just dumb otherwise. We don't watch the in-line / V6 supercar races do we? The V8's will always ignite the passion and the GT name will hopefully live on. I own a T but feel order has been restored.

Yes, but in saying that rumours that ford are wanting to quit the straight 6 for either a turbo 4 or v6 now having the straight 6 in the first place was and always has been a ford icon and a powerful one at that.
