Now that FPV have decided to finally go off with a big bang and create a perfect V8 monster. I think its time the F6 got an upgrade....maybe on cosmetics or maybe a higher power stock tune???? whats everyone think?

You can't give it anymore power, because you know...

Just a simple tune and it will outshine the supercharged V8 they spent ever last penny on, then they'd look silly..

I haven't driven one but I have seen a couple, only comment I have is, why are there no real 1/4 times for stock vehicles? No one is running then stock, and on 350-400rwkw the times aren't that impressive, the rwkw figure is but not the ET, and it all excuses.... Possibly they are dyno queens ;)

I'm sure with the rwkw a GT has they can really do a low 12 stock, but I haven't heard of it yet, and there are xrt's with 50rwkw less doing faster times..

So in my opinion the F6 is deliberately turned down a notch to make the V8 the king, cos V8 are the status car, can't have a hero car that's a stupid 6 now can we...

Completely off the mark in my opinion. Tune the F6 all you want, you'll need to upgrade piping, intercooler, air induction, the lot for it to make 400rwkw, unlike the GT that can do that stock under the bonnet with a tune. Sure, both of them will need more parts when more power is required, but your theory of a "tune only" is incorrect.

Why don't we see stock GT's down the 1/4 mile? Because people who run these cars down the quarter are probably chasing power and good times, and thus, have already tuned the de-tuned coyote, because it's the first thing people do along with the exhaust.

How can the F6 be "deliberately" turned down when the GT came out AFTER? Sure, there's a lot they can do to give it more power, but it's always been about the V8's having the top mark, simply because of marketing values. When people think Ford or Holden, they think big muscle V8's (which is silly, in my opinion) - I still believe the Turbo outshines the GT, so stop licking your wombs because we know the turbo is still king (even though reviews don't make it seem so, again, a marketing strategy).

I've had the FG XR6T, and soon will be owning the GT 335 (this Saturday), and the only reason why I bought it was because I wanted something different. Sure, the F6 was $15k less, but I've done the turbo, driven it, had fun with it.. it's time for a change.

Sorry but I'm talking ex factory, if the factory were to re tune it for a slight power upgrade..

Not an aftermarket tune

But to your point, running an F6 in 400rwkw spec as the GS has been tweaked to will see a 10 second pass not like the 11s and slower the 400rwkw GS's have been running

And the F6 has always been held back, it's on par with the 335, so how did it compare to the old slugger, it didn't so hence the reason why it's capable of so much more even with a factory spec upgrade (not talking aftermarket here) there is a massive midrange in the turbo's and somehow they can easily keep pace with cars making more than 50rwkw more than them, I had a jog with a 6.2l cammer making much more than mine and 60km/h roll it couldnt match my baby turbo..

Have fun with your new toy

I think time for FG series II - period. Agree with comments about the GT. The turbo falc has been too good in a way - robbing V8 sales. Ford needed some distance between the V8 and 6 performance models so I doubt you will ever see the F6 making = or more power / torque ever again. It's just dumb otherwise. We don't watch the in-line / V6 supercar races do we? The V8's will always ignite the passion and the GT name will hopefully live on. I own a T but feel order has been restored.

The factory can lean on it hard as they can and send out grenades to there customers, the F6 still wont match the GTs for power output.

A 10 secong F6 wont just happen with 400rwkw, itll take a built box, stally etc.

The 380rwkw GS that ran its 11.7 has ONLY DONE ONE PASS. But its MPH was through the roof. 135+ from memory. and that's the bit that doesnt lie.

Sorry but the new 5L sh*ts all over the F6 if your after power.
