I downloaded the livelink software from the herrod site and now the computer is saying it cant read the hand held device.

is there a driver that need to be installed to communicate with the tuner?
Try re-booting laptop and just start Live link on its own, plug in xcal to the car, then to the lap top, then turn ignition on... should all start up ok.

The data logging is awesome, but only good if you know what your looking at, and know what pids to log... otherwise its just lots of fancy lines, eh Mat lol

Well I decided to wait until my missus got home from work lastnight to see what I was doing wrong with the computer. With her being a bit of a wizz with technology she got it working in about 2 seconds flat!

Turns out I had to download a driver for the xcal.

Had a bit of a play with it this arvo after work but ran out of time, I'll have a good go on the weekend.

One you will want is PSI:

(MAP-BAP) / 2.04

That's Manifold Absolute Pressure and Barometric Absolute Pressure I think.

Then you can look at your dangerous boost spikes! This was when my car was stock.

Of course your boost line will spike the wrong way if it's a manual :)

Not too sure about the XCAL2. I think you can check fault codes on it but not to sure about logging, I could be wrong though.

I'm thinking about adding an oil cooler in the next few weeks so it will be good to see what temps eveything is running at before and after.

Just need some time to have a bit of a look at it.... Stupid work
