XRT 166 Member 19 Member For: 13y 9m 22d Posted 10/03/11 01:34 PM Share Posted 10/03/11 01:34 PM OK there are a few things up with the turbo....1 - Every now and then the stereo just shuts down while driving. sometimes it's when going around corners, sometimes it's when hitting a bump in the road, sometimes it's when just driving it will do it randomly....2 - the courtesy lights don't work properly. have done the "press and hold button for 5sec" as the manual says but it makes no difference. they work if you press the button in the dash or unlock the car with the remote, but they don't come on when you take the key out of the ignition or open the doors....3 (and this is the worst) - I went to annihilate a Late model camira from a set of lights today (yes yes hero, blah blah blah) so chucked it across and bumped it back to start in 1st. Went to take off, about 1/2 throttle because any more and it's a smokeshow, and as it got to around 3000rpm I pressed to 3/4 throttle and the whole thing essentially blacked out. a whole mess of lights came on in the dash, lost power, ran really rough and didn't want to keep revving past 3. I put it into neutral, shut it off for a couple of seconds and then started it up again and it drove fine. It's now the 3rd time it's done this and doesn't do it unless I bump it all the way back to 1st.....Mods to the car: 60lb injectors, fuel pump, process west blacked-out intercooler, XFT tune for 323rwkw/420rwhp, voltmeter and boost gauges (Autometer Cobalt) in that centre pod, F6 intake. The only other thing I've noticed is the aforementioned voltmeter fluctuates a little bit every now and then, but doesn't seem to be any worse than other ones I've ever used... so it's got me knackered. I'm not familiar with B-series but I'm not a noob when it comes to cars and mechanical know-how so please try to keep acronyms to a minimum but don't ask me if I know what a multimeter is, just tell me if I have to connect it to something, and if so - where.Cheers Jais

If so I'd say it's a loose connector - it should log a fault code so Ford should be able to pinpoint the issue relatively easily and fix/replace it.2) There are options in the lighting settings for these, on your ICC go to settings/lighting and make sure those options are ticked. Sorry ignore that...didn't notice the BF bit3) NFI...I'd be getting it back to your tuner to have a look at that. Not something you want to happen mid-overtaking maneuverer Edited 11/03/11 04:21 AM by tab

Not something you want to happen mid-overtaking maneuverer Yeah the way it shuts the stereo off would suggest that to me, but I didn't want to pull it apart because someone told me the ICC's get all screwy if they're tilted past a certain angle. Any idea if there's truth to that? The traction control has apparently been disabled in the tune so that it doesn't have a sad with all the power going through it or something, but I rang the guys at XFT and they said that shouldn't have interfered with the interior lights or caused any funny business... XRT 166 Member 19 Member For: 13y 9m 22d Posted 14/03/11 01:50 AM Author Share Posted 14/03/11 01:50 AM had the battery disconnected for 2 days while I stuffed around with the ICC and the gauges that are in it - removed scotch locks, tidied up a lot of wiring, got some proper grounds happening etc etc..... took it out for a run yesterday arvo and tried to make it f*** up again - nothing. I might re-flash it with the tuner box that's here and see if that helps too.....
