I spoke to Tony Dominello today so what I might do is take the box out and leave it with him and pay him off slowly until im ready to rock and roll. Tony said he has done a 4spd box behind a 516rwkw F6 and is going strong (not sure if it is CLINIC's one or not)Mate that's a waste of money and will cost you more in the long run, Dominello will give you a year warranty if you buy one of his built boxes, by far the majority of them dont last a year and he doesn't cover them on warranty have heard it so many times the $5000 C4 WILL save you $$$$ in the long run. Pretty sure Clinics btr was built by Preston Auto and diff in Campbellfied.... Edited 07/03/11 10:04 AM by RIP_HSV

And 4 speed in an F6??? Why? that's weird. Its a XR with a F6 bodykit, Clinic is a Panel beater/spraypainter shop owner

And is still going strong I believe. My mate eriks ba has never seen the 1/4 and had a very easy life in the scheme if things.... It is slipping. What im trying to say is that the tune (shift pressures etc) play a major role in the longevity of the btrs.I must add that I have had both tunes from tunehouse and C&V.If it was me id stick with the btr but try a different tuner. My car is not daily so it will be nice to have an animal for the weekend
ebxmple Member 1,322 Member For: 17y 24d Posted 08/03/11 10:55 AM Share Posted 08/03/11 10:55 AM Yep,key to reliability out of the 4spds is having a descent cooler, regular servicing (10,000km) and a capable tuner. Another thing is when the first auto of yours died, did they flow check your cooler in the radiator? Usually when an auto sh*ts itself it shoves alot of sh*t through the cooler and can partially and in some cases, fully block the cooler. Mines been fine with 320rwkw,strengthened flex plate, trans cooler and a 2500 stall for 2 years and still shifts good. On the other hand,if I could afford Yarra Valleys auto conversion that they have started doing,I would be getting that. If you cant afford to do the 10g option,go the BTR,get a good cooler and service the trans regularly. Oh and if they run the cooler in series with your radiator cooler, make sure they flow test it. Thanks for the heads up.
