If it were just factory power levels would it be better off with a powerglide anyway?

LOL a 2 speed for factory levels???

Imagine the fuel economy!!!

My 4speed has been hassle free for 3 yrs... I'll be sticking with it unless im pushing well into the 400s

Not many can say that... most keep forking out and fixing the btr time after time when the simple solution is upgrade to something that's stronger in the first place. Do you know of many or any with 400+rwkw's who havent had issues with the btr?

I only know 1, CLINIC. Danny (Headsex) is/was/whoknows was close to 400 with a btr.

If/when mine dies, ill be going c4/glide.

:stupid: 2.5 years with well over 300rwkw and most of it with 370rwkw. When it did go, just a freshen up of a clutch or two and some bearings. 6 more months and going strong.

The only problem for me with a non-overdrive box is fuel economy. There are other options too. When my big-banger eventually gets on the road, it will be running a 4l65.

theres one haha....but I know that CLINICS btr has had to be ripped out for a flex plate issue and clutches.... if I was after overdrive I'd be looking into the Jatco box built by Woolongong autos or JZM.

Ok guys I spoke with Con from C&V performance today, he has C4 drive in drive out package for around 10K, manualised, handles 1000hp and lifetime warranty etc etc this list goes on, I told him while its off the road I want to also get a full exhaust system then turn down the power so im not up for a new motor too. Saying that he just told me to get a dominello built box to retain the drivability, any thoughts on this?

Mate this is just my opinion but the way I see it unless your after big power or a low time get a built 4 speed, look after it, keep it cool and you should be ok. Way cheaper option. What do you actually want out of the car?

Dillz, im not after big power although I would like to take it to the track occasionally, knowing that a C4 package will cost me 10k I dont think is an option anymore as me and the fiance are saving for a house and our big greek and italian wedding, if I had a spare 5k I would have snapped up Slash's c4. I spoke to Tony Dominello today so what I might do is take the box out and leave it with him and pay him off slowly until im ready to rock and roll. Tony said he has done a 4spd box behind a 516rwkw F6 and is going strong (not sure if it is CLINIC's one or not)

Yeah definitely sounds like that would be your best bet. And 4 speed in an F6??? Why? that's weird.
