It still sucks that they still have the stigma as a fuel guzzling vehicle. For the weight of the things VS the fuel they use they're bloody terrific.

Brand aside if half the the drivers that drove other brands drove the FG there would be more people driving them.

Yep the FG isnt perfect but dollar for dollar its a damn good car.

I still dont understand why they get bagged so badly for build quality. I have almost 60k on mine now and other than a few very minor things it has trouble free. Best car I have owner that's for sure.

If ford/Falcon goes to a FWD platform then the FG wont be leaving my driveway

fark Robbo , you've put some Ks on her. My sh*tty old BF has only 70ks on it in just over 4 years.

and it will stay in the driveway for a little longer. Not an FG but aint too bad a bus

What sort of money would a brand new XR6T go for at the moment? Car Sales has them at between $47,500 and $52,500 for 2010 Demo's

Ford still don't list RRP or any sort of price for their cars on their site :bopp:

The Bogan special Redline is good value if you compare it to these prices...

Admittedly I have Teins on, and do go down a few dirt roads. But my FG @ 43,000 is full of rattles. One started yesterday at the front drivers side guard, or that is where I think the sound is coming from. It's like a have a belt stuck out the bonnet or something. A real flapping sound. I am guessing it's a splash guard or something similar. Besides that;. My drivers door rattles And squeeks when I rest my elbow on the thing . My dash somewhere near the gauges. The cover around the steering column. The silver trim above the glove box. The drivers seat has collapsed on the side and is all wrinkly.

But on a good note I have never suffered the brake shudder, drive-line clunk or axle tramp. It will take me a day to fix it all and very little cash.

I wouldn't even bother going to Ford as I want a proper job done. And I don't need to be told my car is highly modified...phhfft motors bog stock. It really has never faulted since I had the electrics fixed and it does cop a hard time. I doubt any crommydore or Jap shoite would have fared any better.

I cant see the Falcon ever being AWD. Or would want what we would get for the price.

With the trade I was offered I would not be paying more than 28k for an 09 in top nick. That would still leave the dealer plenty.

tab, you say there is no problem, and keeps a sh*tload of people in a job wrong. my brother in law works at ford in broady, there is not enough work cause they can't sell cars. he has nearly every friday off, or as ford call it a down day. because there is no work if you don't sell cars no use building them. I don't know which section forum member bunna works at ford, but im sure he knows what im talking about? when he has friday off , means no pay?

let's wait and see what happens when they release their new local products! Til then, I'm not surprised.

If Ford wanted to chase Expensive Daewoo purely on numbers, then they could include Ford contractors to be eligible for fleet plans, as Expensive Daewoo do. But Ford choose not to do this.

Point noted Pazzo...but I don't think aggressive marketing and discounting is the answer, as mentioned previously I reckon that would just make demand even more volatile.

not having a go at anyone tab, it's just disapointing that such a iconic car could be gone forever, and my brother inlaw still has a mortage to pay aswell. and mouths to feed. but is it markerting, the car itself, people's peception of the falcon, and is it that most people are being to green now, ford are really pushing the diesel car now like the fiesta econectic, and the territory diesel, focus diesel. I don't think a 4cyl falcon turbo will work, no matter how good it is. as you know my brother inlaw works there, we get the ford discount thru him but my brother and dad refuse to buy a ford. oldman drives a honda accord euro, and brother drives a hsv monaro. only me driving a ford. go past broady ford car park and look how many holdens in there, there own workers don't drive them.
