The EcoLPi comes out in June/July this year and it wouldn't make financial sense to bring it into a car that is being scrapped only a few months later. My personal belief is that the "FG II" (or whatever it will be called) will be released officially later this year to coincide with the EcoLPi (June/July), Miami V8 return in the XR8 (September/October) and the EcoBoost (January 2011). This would last Ford for another two years or so at least. Also, Ford have been bragging about bringing the EcoBoost to Falcon for ages so it would be a bit of a back flip to then can it. I'm sure there's been quotes from Ford exec's saying the XR8 is coming at the end of the year though

What does everyone think about the new direction? will it happen? will they bring out a turbo charged Taurus? what will become of the current XR range and the F6?Any one got any inside info?
