hey guys, I have $10000 saved up for my car and was thinking of getting a loan of about $5000 and getting a BF NA XR6. The only problem is I was hoping to do a fair bit of performance modding and have been told that I can spend over ten grand on mods and only get 20 or so KW more than a stock XR6 turbo. Which got me thinking that maybe I should hold onto my money and save for a good XR6 turbo when I get off my P's and just drive a cheap car for the time being. Opinions please :beerchug:

1. Buy a Corolla

2. Enjoy saving money on petrol for 3 years

3. Put what you save each week plus what you have left in a savings account should see 5% or so.

4. Get your full license, withdraw what should now be more like 20 grand and buy a real nice T

Plan B is your go. Ten G on a n/a will get you about 60 more rwkw. And be illegal for you to drive anyway. May as well buy a turbo and take off your badges. Any plod will know you have done the internals.

Get a heap of crap you can drive for a while and not lose out when it comes time to sell. 3rd party property insure it and save a grand a year right there. Put a decent stereo in the junker and wait.

Or take your ten G and jump on a plane with your back pack. That's the best thing you will ever do in your life.

Fly to London. Hitch, drive or train it down to Austria. Do a seasons work in Kitzbuehl then off to Spain with everyone else. Mate the memories will last you a lifetime.

Buy something safe and cheap to fix. You are far better learning to drive in a cheap car and save for a nice car once you survive your P's and have enough experience not to crash into everything.

Buy a turbo. I owed a ba turbo from the day I was 18 and now 21 own a fg turbo. Just make sure you can buy and house as well. No point waiting funds into nice cars if you got no investments.

Yeah, old farts are boring (myself included). Unfortunately, the advice here is good mate. Don't buy the turbo yet - encourage a mate to do it! That way, you'll still have a licence and be able to save up for a good one later, not a clapped out T that's been punished. Let a mate do that :roflmbo:

Mate your 18, don't waste 3 years being the boring tightass bloke with the corolla.

By the xr6, do some basic mods and make a nice streeter. Basic mods makes them move well and they look tuff when done up right.

Then when your 21, get a T. Anyway you can afford it. Loans are easy, finance is easy, savings easy If you work hard.
