No such thing as better fuel economy with drilled stockers, Get a new tuner who knows their stuff if this is what he suggests!!!Deka's for sure, $370 a set is cheap as chips compared to the early BA era when the only larger options were $650+ a set for 42lb'ers.I have Blue power 'hi flowed' injectors and in my opinion it depends on how you drive. If you put the foot into it alot then its going to drink like a fish but if you baby it around the fuel economy actually can improve as I have noticed in my car. The hardest thing for me is that I cant keep my foot out of it. I like the idea of going for hi flowed stock injectors mainly due to the reliability and standard placement compared to aftermarket injectors. That said any good tunershould be able to correctly scale any injector to suit your mods and your car. Both injectors provided better closed loop economy than factory. As Weapon says step into it MasterCard. IMO, keep your stockers, never know if you might want them down the track and for the low cost of dekkas and 968's these days, just get which the tuner prefers. Really it's what both you and the tuner feel comfortable with using and I've been trusting chris's advice and he hasn't steered me wrong so far. Every tuner has their perference in injectors that they like to use. Usual because they are used to tuning with a particular type of injector and have files from other customers tunes they can use on your car. Less time stuffing around getting the injector scaling right etc.. on an injector they haven't had much experience with... (less dyno time $$$$)Not to say the injector they recommend you to use is wrong, you are always best taking their advice and using an injector they are used to working with. Just think there are a lot better options in the market other than standard drilled (Hi Flow) or Dekka's. Have a look at the ones avaliable from Xspurt or Injector Dynamics. I currently use to Xspurt 1000cc ones, they idle great (better than when the car was standard) as well as giving you much greater flow over the drilled or Dekka's which is good insurance if you choose to chase more power in the future or even if you want to run E85.Ben
spoolxr6 Member 312 Member For: 14y 2m 1d Posted 08/03/11 09:20 PM Share Posted 08/03/11 09:20 PM Is the spray pattern on a Deka different to that of the original Bosch? If so wouldn't it affect the dynamics of the way the fuel is attomised into the barra heads as opposed to the stockies? Just putting this out there to the experts? This has happened straight after the injector install and tune I gather?
