But they've got to be better than the Zeetex tyres that came packaged with the 20's. Mind you at over 15psi with a TO4z setup they have met there match. I ran crap nangkangs prior and the difference was just amazing when I changed. Can't understand why berzerker you say they aqua plane in wet as I drive my car very hard and have done like 120-140 in very heavy rain where other cars would slow to like 60 on freeway. Always run rainx so have no vision problems and never had any sign of aqua planning. I also buy mine from st George but the 19's are a bit more expensive??? Still cheaper then buying from any tyre shop here locally. I checked heaps of reviews and the best I found where a mitchelin and 3 others bridgstone f1's, yokahama advan & the Proxy's. The mitchelins where like $1000 each, the F1's by memory where $700 each and both the proxy and advan's where under $500 each. I ended paying $720 del to QLD for the proxy's and scored the advan's locally off eBay for $300 pair. The Advan where a better steer tyre so I bought them for the front and the proxy's had better traction straight line. Maybe that I run Pedders coil over front and sports rear along with whiteline 27mm front bar as well AP racing brakes, my car feels so good with turn in and power down, with all complimenting each other. Plus being a t56 manual may make some difference. Also I'm getting over twice the k's out if the proxy's as opposed to those crap nangkangs. Next tyres will be a semi slick though as once new engine goes in and I start pushing 20+psi I doubt any street tyre will bite. Dags and berzerker since you have found them to be not so good in your views what have you both changed to and a bit more info so I can see if they may be of benefit to me. Heard you have to scrub semi slicks everytime after you drive on them, so don't really want to do that every day after work. Need something more user friendly but can cope with over 450rwkw and street legal. Pre my to4z had a stock ve SS beat me till 3rd as fighting wheelspin 1-2 with the nangkangs then shortly after with the proxy's ran a guy on a triumph rocket 3 from 2 sets of lights and beat him both runs so the proxy's can't be to bad. Also I did gave a bit of axle tramp at first but it was caused by the tyres biting hard squatting the rear onto it's bump stops. Once I cut the bump stops down it solved the axle tramping. Its odd to say the least. But since the Toyos ive changed to Federal EVO's.I was speaking to Karl (HIRO) about a year ago and was surprised when I noticed that he was only running on 245 wide tyres with the power he has (450+rwkw) and he said that the Federals actually performed really really well.So of course having far less power in my car (330rwkw) and once I had deliberately worn out the Toyos as quick as I could I swapped over and man - what a difference. No more aquaplaning and just far far more grip. Found a place near me that sell them cheaper than the Toyos too.So yeah no idea how people have conflicting stories. Different cars, different more aggressive tunes maybe? Although mines far from that.. but the aquaplaning side of things dont add up. The Rocket 111 was a BSA, the 3 cyl Triumph was a Trident, a stock T would beat either as both could be whipped by almost any Japanese 2 stroke 250cc made after 1972. Hence the demise of the British motorcycle industry. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/73527-toyo-proxes-4/#findComment-1084880 Share on other sites

I've not had it long enough (nor other tyres) to compare but they do aqua plane a bit, and one crappy roads can tram a little under brakes. (though this may just be the car/model)They don't seem too bad for grip. I'm needing to replace them soon and was actually keen for other/better options. Ku31's maybe? Maxxis MA Z1's ? (toyo's are AA rated)Dry grip I dont spin the tyres as much on 3/4 throttle launches. Also noticed the tyres have made in USA on them. I'd be interested if everyone elses are USA made.Honestly, I'm impressed with them, but the qualifier is that I was coming from a crappy tyre.
