I've been searching for quality DRL's for quite a while.

Invision has now released the Philips range of DRL's used o'seas into Australia. They come with full wiring loom and are OZ compliant. Can order through Autobarn (Try Fyshwick ACT). However if linked up to the parkers I notice that the parking lights seem to stay on in the FG when normal running lights (low & high beam) are on as well. However specs state that the DRLs will dim when normal lights are switched on.

Check out this website for full specs and installation guide:-

The LED Daylight 8 DRL (as in the brochure) fits perfectly into the G6E lower grill (I've measured) Mine are going in on the 2nd bottom row in the lower grill as far as left and right that you can go. You only need to cut out one of the vertical grill webs on each side to fit in, with 8 spec light slotting exactly into the plastic grill space.

Just read through the product specs and brochure. Looks interesting.

For your parking light problem here's the notes:

Philips LED DayLight 8 modules are dimmed at night and fully replace the position (parking) lights. Since it is illegal to drive with four front position (parking) lights, the original lamps must be removed.

Important: On certain cars, removing the lamps may generate a defective lamp warning signal. To cancel it, you must replace the original lamps with the ones delivered in the Philips package. These simulate the behavior of the original lamps without producing light.

Got any pics of your setup?

I can't believe the trend has continued on to included even porsche (whose DRLs look terrible). sad, sad, sad.

I'm all for increased visibility and safety blah blah blah but why do they all look like autobarn special bin mods?

In Europe they are required, this is why we are seeing them in mainly Euro spec cars.

They are a good idea as they do increase visability, but can make them look rice

They look a bit HSV (I.e. tacky and gay)

Ya see now, I was going to post earlier that it seemed like an awful lot of trouble to go to in order to drive around looking like a goose. But I hesitated, I thought: no, its only your opinion, if people like this sort of caper then its none of your bidnez. I even got flamed slightly when I expressed my thoughts on the HSV items elsewhere.

I say again, angel eyes look awesome. But I wouldn`t drive around on a bright sunny day with them turned on.

I just can not see the point in having lights on my car that do nothing else but proclaim to other road users that:

I have some lights turned on. especially if its a perfectly clear day.

Research has proven that even on a perfectly clear day, having your headlights on will make you more visible to other drivers, thereby lessening the chance of having someone pull out from an intersection or making a right turn in front of you. After living in country NSW for several years it has become a habit for me to drive with my headlights on at all times, so I can see where DRL's can and probably will prevent accidents.

However, if I wanted to look like an Audi, BMW, Mercedes, HSV, etc., I would have bought one!

Perhaps I will one day have DRL's.........when they come from Ford as standard equipment.

For now, I'll keep driving with my headlights on.

And, for those of you who drive in the rain/fog with only your parkers on, they're next to useless when it comes to making you more visible! :stirthepot:
