Was this another experimental box from Dominellos? I thought he had them sorted out by now??

Dominello built it, the stallie was the experimental part ,but that's all fine, my problem with my box is the line pressures are to high, no matter what he does, to the box he just cant get the presure lower, his changed all the solinoids to brand new,an all the swicthes an still the same out come.

He has done alot of these set ups n there all fine, but his seriously a great bloke, he as all ready torn my box apart,an really he couldnt see anything wrong, he said it was just as clean as when he rebuild it,so he just told me to suss out the electricals an see if everything is fine, an if so he then would but a standard valve body back on to see if it makes a change, an then he would remodify a new one.

Problems like this can be a real pain in the butt.

With the BTR box the S1 and S2 solenoids do all shifting for all 4 gears.

So for 1st S1 on , S2 on

For 2nd S1 off, S2 stays on.

So I would have started playing with the S1 solenoid by disconnecting it completely and controling it manually with a made up switch. Then you could start narrowing it down a bit more.

The fact that the box works OK in manual mode might indicate that the solenoid does not get as much voltage as compared to when in direct auto mode and if the oil circuit that relates to the S1 solenoid has been modified, its overpowering the solenoid .

If that was the case then you could up the voltage the solenoid gets with a voltage booster (just 1 volt would be enough).

I plan to up the voltage to the solenoids to about 15volts down the track in the aid of helping the box a little.

But without knowing what Dominellos have done, this is just a guess. I hate ripping out and dissassembling stuff so I normally try what ever to get around a problem.

hello, I have the exact same problem as you do mate, my box was built by gilroy's it Toowoomba with a 3000stally, they have completely pulled the box apart 2 in the last 3 months as I keep burning out the band in the box. they have replaced solenoids and valve bodies and it is still doing the same thing, am going back to my tuner this week to see if there is anything he can do about it.

I will let you know how I go, and please let me know how you go.
