Hi there, have noticed that when in Drive it often will not find 5th, never 6th. You have to manually put it into 6th. Sometimes when you put your foot down in Drive (say 100kph) it will chop down to 4th and wont change from 4th. Any ideas?

Sounds a bit out of the normal, might be an idea to get the ECU checked to see if the trans is throwing a code or two. Normally the ZF will always go into 6th at highway speeds when its in full auto no matter how you've been driving it

I've actually found my car does this too, moreso 6th gear though.

Ever since my tuner played around with the torque tables in the zf the auto is setup much better for drags but less for cruising.

You sure its actually not a 4 speed auto?? :roflmbo:

Sorry mate. I'm amazed no one else took that.

I did a bike course once on a BMW. I complained to the instructor thatthere was something wrong with my bike as it wouldnt change into 6th.

"that's cause its a bloody 5 speed ya goose"

Seriously though, sounds like its going into limp mode when it wont change. DOes the gear slector light flash at all?

MS700, that's your solution to everything.
