Is anyone running 255/35R19 or 265/30R19 tyres on 19x8.5" rims?

245/35R19 look to be the norm size. I was wondering if a 255/35 would work ok?

265/30 might be pushing it plus I would rather a taller tyres.

Cheers.

Yeah 245 is std on the FG. Not sure on the BA/F. Depending on your rims offset 255 might go on but it will be close with the upper control arm. 265 will get you into trouble with the law and insurance companies. I doubt they would fit under anyway on a 19"

XR09, all Ford rims are 8" wide and 245's fit up nice. The rims I am looking at are 8.5" wide and have a +33 offset vs the +36.5 Ford offset.

According to my calculations I will have 3mm less inner clearance and 9mm less outer clearance.

I'd stick with 245/35/19 on the front...

And you could go 255/35/19 on the rear, but why bother? Easier to rotate same size... And 1cm wont make any difference... (well, it might make some girls happier :-) )

Worm, I agree with regards there being FA difference between the two. I thought the 255 might sit a bit more square on a 8.5" rim.

Now to find some decent prices locally. Made a few calls and nearly fell over when they gave me prices for KU31s :nono:

My rims are 19 x 8.5 x 35 offfset. With Kuhmo Ecsta SPT KU31's

255's would not go on,they scraped under hard cornering on the upper control arm.

Cheers for that XR09. Yea I'll most likely go a set of KU31's as well.

How do they sit on the 8.5" rim? Got any side on pics?

Cheers.

guys I have a 18* 9 inch rim and I have 285 on them no rubbing barely any bulging at all!! it looks like how it should from behind now.. I cant believe how skinny 245 looks in comparison....

I think the offset plays a big part asi still have more room on the inside and I am confident a 295 would fit but I would want a 9.5 or 10 inch rim for that.
