Just wondering what the limits of the standard BF F6 oil pump gears would be roughly.

Thanks

My tuner told me mine would be OK. Apparently the biggest killers are bouncing the car off the limiter or raising the rev limit too high (over 7000) where it just gets too much & they fly to bits.

Still running stock gears in my car after 93,000k's - I look after them though and stay away from limiter plus allow for a decent warm up before flogging it.

I found the best indicator is my oil pressure guage - when the oil is at the right temp it doesn't go past ~80psi at max load and rpm.

In saying all that though, everytime do a burnout and get near the limiter I am constantly thinking about the gears and my eyes are pretty much glued to the oil pressure guage! :omg:

Is it manal or auto?

Reason I ask is the manuals are more prone to breaking because when coming off massive revs there's strain with all, then nothing particularly on gear changes but certainly high revs can be a klller. A soft cut limiter will help and having it set slghtly lower. If ya worried spend the thousand odd dollars and get a complete unit from atomic which has a high flowed housing which will aid in limiting the chanses if breaking in the future.

Mine saw over 400kw STD with massive burnouts down the track and the occasional limiter bounce so don't stress too much, was an auto though
