Hi all,

I have a late 09 fg xr6 turbo which was serviced by ford at 11,000km.

I took it back to Bayford Coburg which is were I purchased the car for the 21,000km service which I thought went well until the car hit 31,000km.

I had my local mechanic go over my car and the first thing he said was why is the oil so black and thick!

Straight away I said to him let's dump that crap oil.

Well this is were the crap started. The mechanic went to remove the sump plug and it was loose like a pro! When the oil was dumped, it looked like it wasn't changed for ages if at all.

So we changed the oil filter and added 6.8l of magnetic 10w-40.

Also we tightened so many bolts that he said did they anything in the service, also the air filter was so black that hasn't been changed since new,

Also before the last service, I told ford that my brakes shudder and they said it's fine! I asked my local mechanic to check the rotors and the left front was stuffed! It needed to be machine four times until it was good! I took the car for a drive and guess what no shudder!

Ford go on about they recommend the car should be serviced with them! They are a joke and there's no way my car is going back to ford for a service!

Ford will only see my car warranty issues!

Well that's my rant!

Ahhh good old Ford service. I bought a brand new XR6 for my sales manager a few years ago and it made it 22 klm before the sump plug fell out and dumped all the oil. Fors service usually means paying $160= an hour for some apprentice on 3rd world wages to practice on your car. Except for warranty issues and the rare good service dept, JUST DON'T. Adopting that attitude will save you a lot of money and a lot of heartache. They have NFI :dontknow:

Get your mechanic - I guess he's licensed - to write a report on what he found. Send a copy of this and a stinking letter to the deler principle who did the supposed service and Ford Customer Service in Mebourne. You should get a couple of free proper services out of it at least! Please do it. The more this heappens the better we will all be in the long run. These are the cowboys that we, and Ford, want to get rid of.

Sam, take it further mate. Definately get a report writtten. Keep the old oil filter and oil if ya can. Write to the service manager but also the head of service at Ford otherwise the Coburg guy will just piss in your pocket and nothing will get done.

Definitely draft a letter. If you cant without ranting and losing the plot. I am sure someone on here will do it for you.

It needs to be precise. No exaggeration, and to the point. Unfortunately you cant get personal.

Then let it fly to every one and anyone. My first would be to consumer affairs. Then A Current Affairs. Then Frauds customer relations. The MTA. And your local member of Parliament. If you had done the service your warranty would be void. Yet Coburg Fraud can do nothing and you keep your warranty ????

Seriously I would totally hang them out to dry. This is not the first time I have heard of very bad service from them.

But first you will need that report from your mechanic. Without that your a fish out of water.
