Hi guys/gals. Just after info concerning the Force 6 from owners. Firstly, what turbo do these run? Similar to the XR6T Garrett? Also. Intercooler size/dimensions.

I'm looking @ purchasing a Force 6 @ present & quite frankly, although I know the XR6T & the XR8, even the SC'd 8, I know little about the Force breed? Any info will be very appreciated :spoton:

Thanks! I shoulda known this seeing as though the power is the same. Spose you ask dumb questions when your not sure lol. Guess the question shoulda been, is the turbo the same in the 270kw BF series as the 240/5kw BA? GT3540R or bigger? I don't know much concerning the BF? Is it just an ECU upgrade in the newer series like is it chipped? I know the intercooler is larger. Is that about all?

BA/BF all have the same turbo FPV or not. BF's got better cams and a smarter VCM hence the extra grunt

Injectors are the same across all models too.

Many many non FPV owners have been sucked in and bought "typhoon" injectors that are the same as the ones they already had

Sorry if I'm labouring this a tad but, next car I purchase is kinda for keeps (a while anyway).

The flash right up on the 270kw FPV's note the turbo spool & efficiency as quite dramatic. Very early spool & impressively high torque figures, like 1500, with full torque range from 2000-4500 or so rpm. That's quite impressive afaik......my question is are the BA/BF XR6T's similar in regards to this performance? If it's the same turbo & similar set up. I note the FPV's had a larger intercooler which would tend to produce power up top & not down low.

Would this give the 240/245kw BA/BF's even quicker spool? More power through lower rev range?

I guess my main point is surely the extra output the FPV's produce should have nothing to do with low down grunt but moreso high-end power? If this is so, the 240kw BA's for instance should have similar peppy everyday street performance as the higher output 270kw FPV's? Yeah??? Can someone give me a heads up on the stock BA model's performance (low down/early spool wise), this will help me decide on next car quite.......

Basically the B series are identical apart from small changes inside the engine between the FPV and Non (springs and stuff). Turbos are the same size, power in the non is 240 or 245kw depending on model, they also achieve max torque at 1800-5000 which I think is somewhere around the 450 or 480 nm mark. Whereas the FPV has 270kw I dont know the torque value but achieves it the same where its on tap almost straight away and is there throughout the rev range really.

Hope that helps they are fantastic to drive everyday manual or auto. Also great when towing.

Thanks. Definatley helps :turboboink: as I thought so since learning they are all much the same set up really. I just needed confirmation. My past boosting experience is centered more on 3.0L platforms & I've only really researched how to get big top end power which really results in poor low-down grunt. With big power in a 3.0L Nissan engine, if the turbo spools well @ 2500, your impressed. That is with the GT30R/3540R's, as in the Fords, but I'm pretty new to the XR6T's larger 4.0L engines so, obviously the GT35's are definately not a huge turbo. Begs the wonder what they would be like with the smaler .84 turbine housing instead of the stock 1.06? They'd be mean down low......
