so just for query upon WOT... the air breather is pulling in air into the crankcase?. so if you have a venting catch can... would the rocker cover air breather still be pulling in pressure in to the crankcase?

no, at WOT/boost the PCV closes so boost won't pressurise the crankcase, AND the breather acts as a vent for any blow-by because the venturi effect of the air rushing into the turbo will suck air out of the crankcase.

there is a thread on catch cans. you don't want a catch can venting to atmosphere. you want to use the engine vacuum to help draw the sh*tty, oily, watery air from the crankcase. I don't know about you but most of the time I'm putting around the engine is still in vacuum. an in-line filter or another catch can on the rocker cover vent line would also stop oil from contaminating the inlet pipework and intercooler.

FordXR6Turbo DIY - Crank Case Breather Hose

Crank case breather hose connector broke off cross-over - apparently something that happens with BAs as they age. First signs something like this may be about to happen to your BA is lots of oil smurched around the connector on the cross-over :nono: When I rocked up to the DIY and opened the bonnet lo and behold was sad to see the connector had sheared right off. Daz repaired it with Locktite 401 superglue
