I have a bf mk2 and in the handbook if the mil light comes on its got to do with emissions and cat converter. this is how its written in the book.[ if the MIL is constantly illuminated when driving, this indicates the vehicle is no longer operating within the emission regulationsand the vechicle should be taken to the nearest ford dealer ]. as long as its not flashing every 1 second and if it is will damage cat converter. hope this helps. mine did it and it was the second o2 sensor.

I think they run about 3 pound of boost or it may be 6. I cant be sure. It is bugger all though.

And Revenge mate, while I'm not having a go at Turbonator, you can expect a heap of sarcasm here. Its all in good fun, honestly. God help you if you ask a dumb question inadvertantly. OUCH!!. I have now and then and WHAM. Get hit for six.

I can sense your frustration, but its true. While we bad Ford, there are actually a few dash lights that mean something. If my engine light or brake fail light came on it would be poo poo time for me.

Anyway, whatever you do, make sure you let us know what the fault was.

Bye the way, Tab is the man. He is probably on the money.

I reckon its stuffed and needs to go to car heaven

Mass Air sensor, big ends, little ends, the puffer valve and the oil cap will all be stuffed

Now you will also have to check the washer bottle cause that's sure to gotten lose and the third nut on the left hand front wheel is probabley missing as well.

Apart from that all should be good :dontknow:

Update

So today the car was booked in at Ford and after about 10mins they diagnosed 12 fault codes, 8 of them referred to 4 main codes which I have listed below.

Fault 1 – One or two oxygen sensors (one looks like the wires are too close to the heat shield which have melted causing the below fault)

Fault 2 – Heater circuit, HEGO fuse blown (pretty simple replace fuse once fixed)

Fault 3 – Waste gate not operation correctly (not boosting to set level)

Fault 4 – Default max fuel setting (resulting in default MAP/ ECU setting safe mode)

I am happy regarding the above outcome as these things are very easy to fix. In saying that the fact that the car wasn't running 100%, means once fixed the 1/4 mile times and MPH should improve.
