I have done a bit of the searching but that only seemed to give results for the cheapest vs grip vs wear levels...I am really interested in picking everyones brain for knowledge on the best tyres they have ever come across regardless of cost.. So if possible please let me know what you think the best tyres for general purpose with high grip levels in the dry and as good as they can be in the wet. (****I am not after semi slicks or any sort of track day stuff) FYI- I had a mazda 3 mps with suspension mods, quite a few engine mods and decent rubber. It was heaps of fun to drive and quite a bit quicker than the F6 in most conditions but I am changing that slowly.. I feel the cars biggest let down at the moment is the tyres. I can't get grip off the line, I can't keep rear grip mid corner and I am a little nervous about front grip but haven't had any problems yet.At this stage I have in mind- I will most likely import the tyres with our dollar vs US dollar its a good time.-Bridgestone potenza re050 -Bridgestone potenza re11 -Pirelli p-zero -Michelin pilot sportI welcome any opinions on all tyres. I can only comment on these as I have had good memories of them (except the potenza re11 but it rates higher on the bridgestone US website than the 050)thanksAndre

I have them on my ute (245/35/19 front & 295/30/19 rear) & am very impressed. Tire Rack in the USA classify them as 'extreme performance summer tires' which is another level up from stuff like Goodyears, Pirelli & Michelin. In the size you want they cost about $600 each over here but getting them from the USA is the way to go.http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Yokohama&tireModel=ADVAN+Neova+AD08 Read the reviews & tests on them everyone who tries them seems to love them. They are grippier than a barnacle or a cat on carpet. EDIT: They really only came second to the RE11 in the test because of the road noise etc. In all the performance categories it was mostly on top. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/chartDisplay.jsp?ttid=118 Edited 11/02/11 12:13 PM by Turbo6FG

"extreme performance summer " seems to cover a few and all of the ones I have some knowledge of, I was thinking about the continentals too but as I have had no experience I didn't list them, I was hoping someone on here could shed some light for me.I'm really unsure and I suppose its six of one half a dozen of the other but all the opinions count so keep them coming.. Only down side is they are a pretty noisy but that's the compromise I guess... I'd buy them again..

I don't beleve it would actually be dangerous to put them on a Falcon as they are a quality built tyre with steel reinforced sidewalls & I doubt they would suddenly burst on street driving. The only risk is possible trouble with insurance. The 255 meet the load requirements. I'll definitely be getting the 295 on the back again anyway the extra grip for launches is awesome. Might get some RE-11s in 245 for the front next time round as they are probably the next best thing although I haven't tried them yet. That combo will make my setup fully legal.
