So randomly jump in the car a few days ago and its only boosting to 10psi instead of the normal 12. Im like hmm that's weird so did a few of the normal things check vac lines check cooler no leaks. Still comes on boost hard no un normal sounds or anything just hits 10psi and stops !! Now the only 2 things I can possibly think that may of happened are.

a)Wastegate stuck slightly open ? (how do I check this?)

b) Cat may of collapsed? it was a rapid cat and its like only 3 months old. How can I check if this is the case? its welded into the exhaust.

I pulled the intake off the turbo no bent blades no marks on the housing and no excess play.

anyone else have any ideas ? I want my power back !!

Cat can be tested by hitting it with a rubber mallet and wait for a tinging sound if it's collapsed..

Mick had a quick look at the car today when I was there getting something else fixed up :) Great service cant wait to go back for more power :D

anyway back to the issue.

I re ran the line still not fixed.

Mick said the actuator didnt look stuck open from what he could tell and nothing really looked wrong so im still stumped lol.

If I cant sort the issue out soon I think its just an excuse to go more power sooner :P

Most aftermarket cats are a POS, I have seen a GT35 SR20 silvia with a brand new 2 hour old exhaust pick up over 100rwhp at 20psi by punching out the "new" cat. We have seen 20-60hp gains on everything from wrx's to evo's to xr6's with similar mods, all in the name of testing of coarse, the cars were then fitted with a new cat of coarse.:buttonit: If the cat is new that would be one of the first places I'd be looking. Or a sticky boost control solenoid or something, it could be a million things.

okay I went to check the manifold bolts and the top ones were so lose so I nipped em up and it boosted fine but then the same issue came back so I think the bottom ones must be loose aswell and its decided to leak from there now. So ill let the car cool down and then nip em up and see how we go. I did get some response back I hope its this lol
