Yhis might sound silly, but the phase I kits to the turbo that are available are saying they increase fuel economy and power?

I ask, has anyone can verify this?

Also putting these kits on deos it void warranty & deos anyone know when to best to put them on (ie 5000km or 10000 km)?

My xr6t Black due mid to late Jan. bleeding.

Al Bundy in respose to your questions I can confirm that the APS Phase 1 kits do increase fuel economy. On my vehicle it is between 5-10% if you drive in a similar manner to before......

As to the power just have a look at the dyno graph at the APS web site. I can confirm it's accuracy as that is my dyno chart. If you can get a chance to drive a T with a Phase 1 kit you wont be able to book the car in quick enough. :lol:

Warranty is another issue. Depends on your dealer. If you want to get into the legalities then the modification must be proven to have caused the failure for the warranty to not be honoured but if it gets to that point, GOOD LUCK! :thumbsup:

Have a talk to APS or a distributor about the best time to fit. I think they were saying around 7000km is ideal but mine was done earlier.

Hi Al Bundy. I fittet a stage 1 Unichip to my car and I don't measure my economy, but I can say that the Klm to empty (after filling the car to the top) in standard form used to give between 510 - 540, after fitting the UNICHIP it tells stories of anywhere between 408 (lowest) and 504 (highest) :thumbsup: All the UNICHIP did for me was create lots of drama for very little gain :kiss: I'm not saying the product is bad (perhaps it's the installer, (they don't seem very intetrested after they've got your $2000) :kissmy: Mate it all frustrated me enough to get rid of the car at 7000 klm. I would say if your going to install anything check out Lachlan Riddel at Chiptorque. I used him to make a VL Turbo go real quick in the early 90s. What I got was good service, good advice, a fair price and a car that went like hell. BE VERY CAREFUL, THERE SEEMS TO BE A LOT OF EXPENSIVE FALSE PROMISES OUT THERE. :kiss:

Mostly country/town driving.

13,000kms, stock car - average 11.5l/100kms.

next 3,000kms, modified car (280rwkw) - average 11.2l/100kms.

Or so says the trip computer.

My fuel diary tells me that prior to mods I actually averaged 11.1l/100kms. I haven't done the numbers for post modifications yet (they are on my work PC so I cant do them right now...sorry)

Went for a spin in September from Perth up to Jurien Bay and back - round trip of approx 550kms.

Stuck pretty much to the limit - 110 to 120 kmh all the way

Had three adults and one ankle biter on board, and air conditioning on constantly - averged 12.05kms per 100 litres.

At the time the car was 10 months old with 13,000 on the clock

I get around 16's if I'm in the city but recently drove Adelaide to Albury in 36 degree heat, Air Con Flat out and cruise set to 110.

I managed to get 10.4 so was pretty happy with that.
