I want to lift the car up by about 20mm as it sits too low for my liking. Front bar hits. I have Tein coilovers. If I want to raise it by 20mm, is this how much I also wind the collars down by or is there a ratio to follow?

its a 1.5:1 ratio.

10 mm up on the coilover = 15mm up on the guard.

unlike other car models, the teins actually wind up to raise the car, which is strange, as on Nissans and toyotas, up = down. lol

Are you sure. If I wind up this will compress the spring which will lower the car? They're no different to any other coil over design.

You will not compress the springs any more than they are now, you forget that the same weight will still be on top of the coil.

The Up Vs. Down thing depends on what you are adjusting. Teins have spring seat adjustment only on the Falcon Super streets so you wind the coil down, where as some other coilover designs (like our WSC or Pedders XA's) have adjustment from the strut base or Clevis Bracket - in this case you wind the clevis up to shorten the total length of the strut.

Hope this helps :spoton:

Yes to winding down - but the amount you wind down is on a ratio as Tocchi stated, wind the spring seat down between 12-15mm for 20mm at the guard :spoton:
