wagnman Member 567 Member For: 15y 4m 25d Posted 13/02/11 06:14 AM Share Posted 13/02/11 06:14 AM HSV Coupe 4 anyone??LOL at that over priced, under performing POS!There is a "modern aussie HiPo AWD" for ya.It was slower than the rwd versions in every way includign lap times. Please FORD dont go down the AWD route unless it is a smaller lighter car designed from the outset to run AWD.Any half arsed lash up that uses canabalised Territory parts or some thing like that will be a disaster.Just sort the traction issues of the existing RWD platform, that would be better and more cost effective surely.I for one have been amazed at how badly the Ba - FG's actually put their power down.As an example mey old VY SS had a lot more traction and drive than a BF XR8 that I also had experience being in. The VY put the power down better with less wheel spin AND it had alot more power (being cammed etc) than the XR8 which was totally std.Why have we always been told how fantastic the FORD rear suspension set up is compared to the VT - VZ set up yet it delivers worse traction????come on FORD sort it out please. We do get that though as our Dynamic Test Systems dyno does produce lower figures than others on the market. However with opening the throttle fully and raising the boost to 10 psi (tapering off at 5500 to 8 psi due to fuel pump and injectors running out), we acheived another 100 rwkW to 335 at the wheels, it would have to be the largest gain from a tune only I have ever seen in any vehicle. No doubt with a fuel system, intercooler and more boost the figures from this engine are going to be impressive. Good thing

Good thingWasnt there big issues tuning these without an intercooler due to the extra heat generated? (going off the info in the KPM thread)... kartman Member 88 Member For: 15y 2m 4d Posted 18/03/11 10:50 AM Share Posted 18/03/11 10:50 AM I found by lowering the boost at high rpm it not only resolved the issue of hitting the limit of the fuel system but also kept the intake air temps at a fairly constant 120 degrees F, which is not brilliant but not to bad either, it means you can keep the timing up to it to and still make really good numbers.Joel
