Cant make it this afternoon, but the guy at belconnen seemed good to me.

He re did one of my windows as it had a slight mark in it, with no questions.

Another was done fairly cheaply after I put a screwdriver rip up the tint...

See how you get on and If it turns out they still dont believe it can be done I could get out there on Friday.

Tinting the AU's used to be a pain sometimes as it was almost impossible to get the film under the seals. The seals sit very tight against the glass and this meant that there was a gap 3-5mm along the edge. Then about 2 years ago we worked out that it isn't that hard to remove the window seals. Then all you see is tint all the way to the edge. Need to apply a bit of lube to get the seals back in though (unless you want to cut them off short - they extend a fair way down inside the door).

If anyone is having an AU/BA tinted make sure you question the tinter as to whether he is removing the seals and will not be leaving any gaps if this worries you.

I almost suspect I could have done a more consistent job ;)

Seriously though - I think Itint has reinforced the suspicion that all is not well... The tinters are goingt o have 'another go' once Bruce is back from the panel beaters.. if that doesn't work we may have to hunt ITint down and get the doors done right....

Had my tint done by the dealer and I must say I am quite happy (although there is the odd bubble or 2 on the rear window, but only noticable when looking directly at it.

My pulsar SSS (actually, it's my brothers now) had it's tints done at qualitint and they did a pretty good job. When the rear windows were down, there was a massive gap around one edge, but when the window is closed it looks perfect.

If you're not happy about the finish, get them to sort the problem.

Aaron if the real reason for the gaps is that the seals are tight against the glass then it is unlikely that they will get it much closer the next time. Sounds more like they may be unsure how to remove and replace the seals. As I mentioned previously it isn't that hard, but can be a bit daunting if you haven't done it before. If you need to, I can give you a step by step procedure or if the guys from the shop wanted to ring me I could step them through it (0412698551).
