OK, so Aaron may not agree with me posting this up but .......

Bruce had his window tint put on yesterday and there are bits of the glass that you can see from the outside of the car that have no tint on them.

:(

I am confused.

I have never seen a car where the tinters claim they couldn't get the tint all the way on the glass properly.

It looks very tacky.

Aaron has rung up the big boss and he said that apparently it is becuase they can't get the stuff inside the seals properly.

Has anyone else had this problem?

When I look at the drivers side of bruce, where the two door join together is where the gaps in the tint are, each about 5mm.

But when I look on the passenger side, the rear door has gap in same spot in middle of car, but front window has the gap down the front by the wing mirror........

Can anyone help us?

We would really like a nice tint job done, especially after the car park nightmare that awaited us later that day.......

It would appear that some days aren't worth getting out of bed :tears:

Agree with the others. Had my tint done by the dealer (Dale Ford). They use Sentry. No problems noted and certainly no gaps.

Window tinters will vary how close they go to the top edge of window glass (due to concerns of peeling) but on the side edge they can get it under the seal.

On mine XR6 Solartint (Belconnen) had no problems geting close to the edges....

Nothing looks worse than seeing a section of window not tinted as it stands out from both inside and out.....your eye seems to be drawn to it.

Sound to me like they are using a template that is too small or if cutting on car they are taking the easy way out and making it a bit smaller for ease of application once they move it from outside to inside of glass.

I would be asking for it to be done again or removed....

CraigH - had mine done at the Fyshwick branch. The quality of the application is very good except for the edges. I would accept their excuse if I hadn't seen another tinted BA (up to all edges) or indeed they didn't get it sorta right on just one window.

Kitty and I are goign to pop into the Belco store for a second opinion and keep pushing to get it done 'right'

Thanks all your assistance has been wonderful!

A.

*Kitty gets out her whip*

Right, let me at them!

Their turn in the litter now!!!!

Try and do the dodgy on us will they?

BTW, thanks to everyone who has answered the questions. I just KNEW it was dodgy! Thanks for affirming my concerns.

CraigH, we may have to borrow you to point at your car, point at our car and then say "Well?"

That'll stuff their average!

*evil smirk*
