if it is a stock auto and running 260rwkw then yes, the auto does need a rebuild especially with those symptons you have described. $3200-3500$ for a BTR 4sp with stall convertor.

ow really that's a pain in the arse cause I just bought it last week, it has a stage one shift kit in it, I think they have just changed the solinoids so it shifts firmer.

thanks for the reply

May not need a rebuild, a mates one done the same thing and it was a band, any decent auto joint could repair it if it's the same problem and won't cost the prices mentioned above, they can probably inspect some other components of your box at the same time to see what kind of condition it's in. It should last a while with 260.

If it's just clutches/bands, it won't cost much at all but you'll basically be back to stock. Getting shift pressures turned up in the tune and box will give you more longevity but it will go again at some point.

My stock auto lasted for about 6 months with between 240 and 350 rwkw. Once the wick was turned up to 350, it died after a couple of months. Got a rebuild from RVO and it went over 2 years until I killed a band at 6k in 3rd. Went in for a freshen up (new bands and bearings) and it's been going for another 3 months without any problems.

If you spend the dosh now on a "full" rebuild, you could save yourself $1000 down the road when you do eventually smash it proper.
