Yes I realise in some areas ADSL2 or even ADSL are not available, but am yet to see any legitimate justification from any business as to why they need the NBN. The most common example used is for healthcare...just about all of the hospitals etc. already have fibre connections. Spend a bit on connecting the rest of them and there's that problem solved. For a consumer to download a movie in 1 minute instead of 20 is far from enough justification to go ahead with this serious waste of our money. Also apparently the copper network is f*cked and we're already spending sh*tloads maintaining it (Just something I hear).Being a government project it's bound to be overpriced, miss managed and not planed properly but that's something we have to deal with, the only alternative is not doing anything. Unfortunately.

Neighbouring suberbs can get ADSL 2 without a problem I welsome the cable roll out, to replace our 1950's technology we have here and we are part of the 3rd biggest city in NSW. Guest newl Guests Posted 08/02/11 04:03 AM Share Posted 08/02/11 04:03 AM At least most of you can get ADSL1. I'm stuck on a PigPond 3G connection with..wait for it..a MASSIVE 12GB of quota! :sarcasm:Granted, I love living the rural life and that'll never change and truth be told, the speed of my current 3G connection is quite acceptable for home usage. The issue I have is with the tiny quota that I'm given for my $90 smackers a month. Half that price with TPG for example, gets me unlimited if I were still living in the burbs. They can put millions of dollars of crop in & it can turn to sh*t just because it doesn't rain at the right time.Sort of job that take a bit of guts.
