Farmers are the biggest drain on our economy anyway with all the handouts and concessions they get...they deserve to be shafted.

:outahere:

As for the NBN I seriously cannot understand why ADSL2 is not good enough for most business, and those that do require something bigger and better already have options - especially in urban areas. Yes I realise in some areas ADSL2 or even ADSL are not available, but am yet to see any legitimate justification from any business as to why they need the NBN.

The most common example used is for healthcare...just about all of the hospitals etc. already have fibre connections. Spend a bit on connecting the rest of them and there's that problem solved. For a consumer to download a movie in 1 minute instead of 20 is far from enough justification to go ahead with this serious waste of our money.

Listen up mate, I want my HD porn in 1 minute not 20!!!

But seriously big part of it is video conferencing and allowing more people to work from home which should in theory cut a lot of travelling to and from work as well as interstate for meetings.

Also apparently the copper network is f*cked and we're already spending sh*tloads maintaining it (Just something I hear).

Being a government project it's bound to be overpriced, miss managed and not planed properly but that's something we have to deal with, the only alternative is not doing anything. Unfortunately.

I have ADSL I cannot get ADSL 2, Angel 3 lives across the road and he can only get dial up or wireless and we are less than an hour south of Sydney. Neighbouring suberbs can get ADSL 2 without a problem I welsome the cable roll out, to replace our 1950's technology we have here and we are part of the 3rd biggest city in NSW.

At least most of you can get ADSL1. I'm stuck on a PigPond 3G connection with..wait for it..a MASSIVE 12GB of quota! :sarcasm:

Granted, I love living the rural life and that'll never change and truth be told, the speed of my current 3G connection is quite acceptable for home usage. The issue I have is with the tiny quota that I'm given for my $90 smackers a month. Half that price with TPG for example, gets me unlimited if I were still living in the burbs.

are you for fkn real tab?

you outa do some research, find out how hard these bastards work for the yields/product then to be ass fisted by multi billion dollar coprorations who pay SFA for the product becuase they can import the same product from f*cking india, malaysia for cheaper.

All these millions spent on telling aussies "buy aussie grown, keep jobs here" bla bla f*cking bla, Try it yourselfs *beep* your turning this nations farming sector broke.

I myself work with several families who all have crops, who last year alone put put money into farming the sh*t, then they got offered at sale time becuase "its cheaper oversea's".

Being an aussie farmer now days couldnt be harder.

:stupid:

I'd hate to be a farmer. It's almost like gambling. They can put millions of dollars of crop in & it can turn to sh*t just because it doesn't rain at the right time.

Sort of job that take a bit of guts.

It is true they are being sharfted buy australian but they are being pushed out by our goverments allowing food from overseas to come in.

There is another peice to the puzzle as well that is large sections of qld and nt being sold off to the chinese so theyy can feed them selves and not us.
