Hey All ,Just purchased a set of 20 inch by 8.5inch wide with a +35mm offset Dub Shoreline wheels and have fitted them with some cheap 225/35/r20 all round thought I had done my reaserch right with them fitting a BA Xr6 turbo that sits at standard height but have run into the drama of the front tyres are fouling on the front conrol arms (I think this is the part, the part the sticks out above the tyres with the black rubber bush)they are not fouling against them when turning they are sitting firm on top of the tyres (to the point the have worn a grove about 4cm across the top of the tyres ! ) and was wondering what my options are to stop the control arms resting on top of the tires ?? could it possibly be that the cheap tires are a little bit taller than stated ??? or has my stock suspension sagged(it is a 1 elderly owner car with 79,000kms and has defintaely not been lowered as it still has the standard black springs with the red dotted paint markings and looks to be at standard height) ?? or could spaces for the rims be used ???or if worse comes to worse should I try a lower profile tire ??? any input would be great ! Cheers. Pete

6mm wheel spacers from BSA wheels

$25 each

Are your rears 10s?

Hey Mate , my rears are 8.5 inches so are the front ! would the 6mm wheels spacer make a huge differnce in the offset ??? as about 2cm of the top of the tire has the upper wishbone sitting on it ! Cheers. Pete

I had the same problem when I put my 8.5s on the front. But I have the wheels at -2.5 and every corner was horrid.

I had 10s on the rear so I put 8mm spacers on the front and they are fine

It is supposed to wear the wheel bearings but I had no choice

Wit 8.5 on the rear I would put the same spacer there

I think the tyre is too tall...

I run 245/30/20 Achilles on a car that is dumped on it arse!!! 225/35/20 is a bigger diameter then both a 245/40/18 (standard) and my 245/30/20's!!!

Lowering won't make any difference to the clearance... Only on the outside lip...

I think your right on the money there !!! will now be looking at purchasing some 225/30r20s for the front to gain the needed clearance between the tyre and upper wishbone.

225/30/20 will NOT be load rated at 93+... anywhere! 245/30/20 is the only size that will be...
