every review I have read on the new fords whether fpv or xr6t mentions how awesome the auto is but havent read anything positive about the manual

can any owners tell me the pros and cons of the manual?

I am used to autos but was looking forward to a manual in a more powerful car for a more intense driving experience.

are there any benefits of going the auto apart from easier to drive?

thanks

Mate the 6 speed manual is great 5 speed not so.. used to have an auto xr6t don't think I could ever go back... something about having the feeling of that 3rd pedal you actually drive a manual haha well that's my opinion anyway..

I had a 5spd in a BA XR8, not as good as the 6 but truely not a bad box. The ZF Auto is a winner Mate, one of the best slush box's I've sampled!!

Go the manual. You'll findthe autos are only quicker because of there launch, rolls on you will I've them every time stock vs stock.

Plus there not a bad box either, keeps the drive interesting.

The 5 speed is fine if you keep it stock. The 6 speed is better though. I don't like driving a v8 unless it's a manual. I have a turbo BF xr6t with the 6 speed auto, and it is fantastic for the turbo, but the v8 and manual is a better drive.
