Im currently in the process of fabricating a custom tray for my fg xr6t ute and before it goes on I will be fabricating a custom zorst for it.

I have purchased a stainless xforce 4" dump and an outlaw 5" 200 cell cat.

Im after advice on what way to go for

  1. muffler choice (I have absolutely no idea)
  2. pipe diameter (leaning towards 3 1/2" single with twin 3" tips)
  3. single vs twin (as above but please comment if you can offer suggestion)
  4. tips diameter

etc.

heres a couple of pics (SMACXR8 from AFF) to show you what im planning.

I am leaning towards a single 3 1/2" system split into twin 3" tips after last muffler.

There is a fair bit of room between the bottom of the chassis and the bottom of the tray so even 4" would be a piece of cake to fit,

but I obviously want it to sound as sweet as possible.

Straight after its installed its goin to mick (pit lane) for the rest of its first round mods and should max out the turbo at around the 320rwkw.

So yer if any of you could share your expert opinions it would be most appreciated :)

P.S. this is all happening within the next two weeks...

Why don't you dump it out the sides before the wheels? Ie. Before diff?

Pretty sure you can cause it's a ute?

I had tinkered with that idea worm...

The only concerns for me there would be

  1. The fuel filler will be right near exhaust tips (would seriously consider rerouting filler pipes but for point 2 and 3)
  2. no room for second muffler
  3. I would want them on both sides and imo that's a v8 thing to do

did ya see this pic I photoshoped? borrowed the tips off GALLUP

or the extreme version lol

f*ck that looks good. Would look sweet as with a nice tray.

Im hoping so mate...

If its legal run it before front of rear tyre, I know with na engines 2.5m is the best suited length for power, hence why V8 SC run there's there.

You want the look at the back just put in some fake ones.

Could even add the 2nd side outlet to.

Got to remember can't see car from all angle's at once so if you run 1 side exit it won't really be that noticeable.

Could you imagine a single muffler 4" system exiting on the side. Mmmmmm

Maybe even could get a flame out to if you can get system hot enough with little rich mix on off throttle in tune.

Having flame may not go down to well with local authorities though...

Would scare the crap out of Expensive Daewoo drivers though.

And could lay claim to really torching those hsv's.

I have no experience with utes but isn't the setup with the pipes in the first image going to have the 'tray' of the ute sitting a mile in the air?

Nah because the tray is kinda hollow. It sits a fair bit off the chassis but is still pretty low. It sits just below the door handles.
