If your thinking about getting second hand springs and shockies from a xr6t the shockies would be pretty shagged. The springs are quite good (std XR6), just replace the shockies. I just replaced my rears with some bilstein shockies (Part Number BE5-62670), I still need to do the fronts. I can tell you they have drastically improved the ride. and have helped to eliminate axle tramp.

As per the above post.

The springs are fine.

However any second hand XR6 OE shock with more than 30,000 km would be shot. Fitting such units would be a waste of money.

Fitting new Bilstein shocks to an XR transforms the refinement, sophistication and especially the capability of the car and retains the factory (XR) standard ride height.

The XR B series chassis was always as good as any euro-super-sedan of its time. The missing piece of the puzzle was high grade monotube shocks and uber general purpose tyres.

Seriously, just do it and enjoy.

I think I have explained it funny, my ba suspension is fine, but its rought when driving down the road, my mates xr6 with standard suspension is very soft on the same road. I can notice all the bumps in the road and such in my car, but my mates xr6 its a lot less rought. so I want to put the xr6 suspension in it to help to make mine a easyer ride.

Firstly, it is more than likely you shocks are shot at this mileage. As you travel over the road the shocks cannot control the wheel and body responses and energy tends to build up in both systems. Even the standard car is under damped when the shocks are new.

You need new shocks.

Monotubes digressive shocks (as in the FG) process bumps is completely different to conventional (dual tube progressive) shocks. In conventional shocks you have the hard/soft trade off. When employing the high quality monotubes technology this compromise is no longer representative of the situation. (The BF F6 R-Spec was a low cost attempt at programming digressive responses into a low cost dual tube shock. )

The terms 'hard' and 'soft' when applied to describe suspension fail to convey the complexity involved.

So, here is an attempt at some more detail.

If you fit a modern high performance monotubes shocks (dampers), such as a Bilstein, the fact is whilst they control the body beautifully, the ride become exceedingly comfortable, (much, much better than any standard series BA even when new).

The effect is most noticeable:

1- over 80kph

2- at any speed when encountering large bumps.

3- at any speed with more than two people in the car

At low speed on small bumps with one person on board, the ride is different to the conventional factory shocks. It is not harsh, it has a different firm but smooth feel.

Hope this helps.
