what im trying to work out here is how badly will high ambient temps effect my 1/4 mile times

I only ask cos I wanna take it out for a run tomorrow ar heathcote but its going to be 40deg!

so how much slower is 311rwkw @ 40deg ambient than @ 20deg ambient? obviously its not 300rwkw @40deg ambient it made that power on a 24deg run with 45% humidity

any guesses?

car seems fine at 30+ deg for short squirts on the street, but I dont wanna go up there and run a slower time than it did stock if you know what I mean...

Traction will probably be bad.

When drag strips get too hot they actually loose grip because all the chemicals in the VHT and asphalt rise to the surface and they become slick.

Heatcote is normally a little slower than calder because of it's elevation.

I can't give a time figure, but the heat will hurt the times and mph. although you could use the info for future comparisons

Yeah I know about high heat and low grip, I killed it the other week accidentally wheelspin out of a corner and down the road for a fair distance. Kind of like it was wet, except 3 lanes were smoked out.

I'm going anyway but I'll be pretty pissed when I run a slow time.

I think I'll have to head out to calder for a run on a cold night and really get a good number. I've already done 30+ passes at heathcote since I got this car both stock and tune only both times I was only mildly impressed. So I have tons of before and after runs to compare.

very true Matt, I ran on oz day 36degrees in drive roll off the line and ran 11.8 @ 127mph not bad for no burnout and no boot off the line.
