I've been using Focals now since 1999 and the last set I bought endured corregated roads and 3 trips around australia...the car is sold but the system in it is still as good as the day I bought them (my cousin bought the car). Don't get anything else!!! They are worth every cent!

Would love to hear how your splits sound in the ute...when you say they sound crystal clear...I believe it!! they have won awards so they would be brilliant to listen to! It's hard to imagine that Focal have been able to make improvements on speakers considering even the one's I have in the ute sound unbelievable. Ps... Nice ute mate!!!well, I was talking to the install guy and he said "dont take it above 32"..... 25 is as high as ive taken it. any louder and its ear peircing. but no distortion. they are high up in the range (without spending over a grand fora set of splits). but as ive said, I did install alot of dynamat and Dynaxorb (a sound difuser pad) behind the speakers. helps ALOT. last speakers I used where Polk splits (still high range) and they dont match these.and cheers for the comment, slowly getting my ute to where I want it

Yep I've only taken mine up to 24 on the volume...trust me it's pumpin hard and clear and probably enuff for my eardrums!!! lol

Dynaxorb u put directly behind the speaker, (ontop of the dynamat you should have on the door skin). it difuses the sound waves directly behind the speaker so they dont bounce straight back into the speaker. important for loud clarity. I suggest both.... dynamat as the minimum. I dont know if there is alot of difference as I installed both at the same time, but I was keen to do all I could straight up. I eBay'ed both of them. got the big pack of dynamat. used 3/4 of it and plan to use the rest anywhere I can. road noise on 20's and being a ute is bad on the open road Edited 06/03/12 04:13 PM by Krazy Kyle
