I ordered mine with premium sound so has the tweeter possie's in the A pillar. Had to rip out the factory 6.5 speakers in the doors (there is a few threads about taking the door trims off). It's a piece of cake. I made spacers out of mdf so that the magnets for the focals (fairly deep speakers) cleared the windows..30mins tops! The rears are 6.5" speakers as well and are so basic it's not funny no modification whatsoever (placed Focal coaxials in there). I have just finished the install and made a custom sub box with 2 Kicker 12" comp Subs, 1 x 750.1 Kicker Amplifier powering both the subs, 1 x 400.4 Kicker Amplifier powering each of the speakers all run off a Audison Bit Ten Sound Field Processor so I can still use the Factory OEM colour screen...Ipod integration, steering controls, bluetooth etc. Some people have complained about the Factory Head Unit being quite noisy however I have found the Audison black box to be awesome.....and to say the sound is amazing is an understatement. yeah there is a little bit of noise when the stereo is on zero...but when listening to music it is crystal clear....and the bass coming from the 2 12's right behind the seats when it's cranking is lethal!!The Bit Ten allows you to plug your laptop in and you can tune the system (time alignment, crossover and filter points and equalisation).. I still haven't had a chance to plug the laptop in yet to upgrade the factory software on the box...still running the program straight out of the box and can't be more happier with the quality of the sound stage and I got quotes from stereo shops to install my system and was looking at a ball park figure around $1800...and that was to make the enclosure for the subs, purchase a sound processor (which you need if you wish to run amps). I decided to have a go at it myself and all up to install it cost $470 (purchase of the Bit Ten...normally $800 roughly, carpet and 2 bottles of Johnnie Walker. The Sub Enclosure I designed and manufactured myself from a solid Laminated MDF (just done research on porting etc) which I found at work (for Free!!) and sealed and insulated the inside of it myselfI will post photos up as soon as I get a chance but any questions feel free to drop a line. My opinion...Do it!!! I'm no installer (just a dirty old Asphalter!! lol) and as everything was done in my own garage with nothing but a testing probe (for checking negative and positive wires, (Speakers), Jigsaw, cordless drill, Torx tools and a phillips screwdriver...Just takes time..but worth it. I've pulled up beside other FG and SS utes at the lights and they spinout that the sounds and bass are coming from a relatively new ute!!My only suggestion is do ya research...don't cut corners( AT ALL!!), and take pride in your work and you'll be blown away by the results!! Although mine was done cheap, I bought good gear from the get go (the system is out of my BA XT sedan), Make sure ya insulate your wires (Power cables for the amps etc), good earth is a necessity, and take the time to plan the build (routes for running cables etc), location of amps, which sound processor to use (every one has their own opinion on what brand (Alpine, Audison etc)).....don't get suckered into buying a cheap one or look forward to enjoying copious amounts of background noise!!In the end mine was a stealth install unless you look behind the seats!!!, no holes drilled or bodgy mods whatsoever and done my utmost to make it look as clean and professional as possible!!Good luck Tim Edited 04/03/12 07:08 PM by Boog72
