Hey mate, I have a BAII t56 manual with 342rwkw with all the mods listed below in my sig. I'm running 14psi..has handled the power fine for the last two years even when punished :3gears:. but yeah 18psi seems rather high to acheive that figure you have, I know a few other ts running at same power level and around 13-15 psi.

18 pound seems like way to much boost to get that number and on a BA I would say it's more of a 'when' not 'if', and bjc 18 pound to get 330? WTF?? And how well would an 8 pound actuator control 18 pound?

Dave gave it a good tune and that's where it was happy at for now so I am not worried. He did want me to get that exhaust housing ported soon and he said that the 8psi is all he needs to control boost and I'll believe him with the times he has run and the cars he has tuned!

It's more like 15-16psi then spiking to 18psi so I'd say due to lack of flow out the wastegate port. I'll be testing it when the air cools down up here as its boiling atm.

My so called 337rwkw tune on 15psi I had from down brisbane netted me just on 113mph at the track so tell me that is right! should have been 117mph, in other words its more like having 300rwkw so the dyno figure is not all that important in the end if its bullsh!t...

Either way I suppose I'll see if the old girl holds out but it sure is fun atm :spoton:

would be a manual.

manual + stock oil pump gears + stock ba motor + not enough exhaust flow (suprised you got 340rwkw with only your current setup) .... IMO, enjoy it whilst it lasts....hope you have an after market clutch and something like a t56 gbox. Id go another dyno. Either way tke it to the track asap.

although 340 will be heaps of fun :D

LOL I had 350rwkw@ 14-15psi and had a 200 cell xforce cat with center muffler removed... T56 with mal woods option 3... Stock exhaust was still flowing well and could have made more...

However 18psi on a BA motor is not a good thing... And I would expect closer to 380 through a manual with correct setup and 18psi...

18psi is a bit too high on ba rods, id drop it down to 15-16psi.... mines on 16 and has been around there for 3 yrs on Ba rods..so its entirely up to you if u want to keep it there.

A full aftermarket exhaust will roughly drop that down a couple of psi for the same power.

As for not doing a actuator upgrade and wastgate port, you will find on a colder night, your boost can be erratic. that's where rods end up out the block.

My mate was hitting 24psi in his stock ba for a while never went bang, seen it go to 28 a few times on cold nights that's what you call a crap tune!!!!
