I recently received my confirmation letter for my fpv drive day at sandown in April. Just wondering what to expect and if any other members will be there

Hey mate!

I went to mine late last year in WA, it was awesome! you'll start with a safety brief (obviously!) then they'll go into understeer, oversteer, apexes and car geometry. once you head onto the track you'll do a slalom with some witches hats, next you'll go onto the brake and swerve @ 60kmph and then the traction control exercise! such an awesome exercise! once that's all done, you'll do a few laps of whatever circuit you're on (that's what we did in perth anyway) and then you'll do a motorkhana incorporating all of what you did on the day through a series of obtacles. the person with the fastest time will be awarded a prize from FPV, in our case it was a hat!

its a fantastic day, and you'll have a lot of fun! I learnt so much about what these machines can do and was blown away at the engineering and how it all comes together!

good luck, and trust me, you won't be disappointed!

enjoy! hope this helps! lemme know if there's anything else you wanna know!

-Yoz.

stuffed if I know what happened.. I smelled something funny, went to ford had a look. They topped it up with oil and away I went new seal on order for Monday.. Long story short I didn't make it home- left a trail of oil from ford to my house. as I pulled up at home it made some terrible sounds and kicked really hard. It's stuffed now :(

Sitting at home waiting for tow to dealer.

Do yourself a favour, let one of the race drivers take you around the track in your car, you will be amazed how it goes.

I've done it twice now, once at calder, once at sandown, both times I have had Luke Youlden take me for a drive :3gears::shocked:

That doesn't sound good, hope they have it fixed for your track day!

One thing I regret is not changing my brake fluid to a better fluid like AP 5.1.. Even with 6/4 brembos I had brake fade in the 3rd or 4th lap. Will be changing this at my next service, think race brakes sell it for $20 a bottle
