There was enough that to wipe it with your finger was like wiping a dipstick. The oil was coming straight out of the turbine. Is it normal for oil to go through like this and if so how much is too much

I have a mate with an FG with the same issue and he put on in and it fixed his.

Dry before refitting and look forward to the next service. If it is just a small amount it sould be fine, but keep an eye on it as there has been a couple of cases of cartridge seal failure which leads to a lot more oil being dispoced intot he pipework. SecaBoy Donating Members 203 Member For: 15y 10m 30d Posted 03/02/11 02:25 AM Share Posted 03/02/11 02:25 AM mine is leaking oil into the piping AFTER the turbo... ie the hot side of the intercooler piping...so much so that its actually dripping out of the joins in the pipes... my intake manifold is covered with oil now... :(ford's response: that's completely normal. nothing wrong.so I'm guessing, even if you empty the engine oil into the intake system, ford will say its normal...

I no over filling oil can cost oil to pump throught turbo, makes big mess can go through cooler ect. but none on my turbo cars have had that problem, but I do see alot a turbo with oil through turbo housing at work, best just keep a eye on it.
