ok guys iam gunna run a BOMB IN THE BOOT style swirl pot surge tank well I already got it and I would love to know of anyone that has used fuel hose within the cabin of any car and has has a susessful hose that dont stink/breath?

cause itl be mounted in the boot I really dont want the smell of fuel clogging the car

so the hole set up uses speed flow fittings thread one side and press on the other side so all the sonnections to the 044 and the tank are threaded and all the hose ends are just press on then down to the std fuel pump location.

need some advice on the best hose to use to rapidly reduce or eliminate the smell of fuel and should I use any type of thread tape on the threaded ends of the tank fittings?

Yeah the teflon braided hose is "said" to be the stuff to use... I used it on my twin 044/surgy in the boot but theres still some light smells on 98... cant smell anything with E85, so you know what my answer is LOL

I had a track gtr with 2 044's and a 040 lift pump in the boot. had braided line but it wasnt teflon, the smell was unbearable for a period of longer than 30 minutes. the only way you will not have the fuel smell is to use teflon and teflon speedflow fittings. not cheap either. if you can, try stay away from any surge tanks that you have to push a hose onto then worm drive clamp it. wont work.

Goodluck. I ended up using metal bundy tube, teflon tube wasn't around much a few years back but may be the way to go. Bet bet is to keep it out of the boot for a daily driver. The fuel permeates thru normal or even viton lined fuel hoses. THe viton lined fuel hoses were meant to stop permeation but never did totally.

cheers for the answers guys exactly what my conclusion has come to iam gunna use this set up just for the drags at heathcote on march 27 then make it removeable in and out for when I need it :beerchug:

looks like the p/w style surge tanks are worth the r&d coin after all
