Dillz, unfair to stack them up against PW and Plazmaman mate. I'm running a Plazmaman inlet muffler replacement and the product is high quality - couldn't be happier. However, neither them or PW make a cooler that doesn't involve hacking your car and that's the point here. I don't think people realise the true implications of doing this. 'Slight trimming' is potentially insurance code for um, you've got none mate - sorry! I'm not taking that chance with a 40k car not to mention too fussy to start grinding and cutting.

I also think people will be surprised with ratter's test results :beerchug:

Yeah I look forward to them too mate. I'm only comparing them because there in the same price bracket so I think it s fair to compare what you get for roughly $1800 these days, but with the Herrod pipe kit they could be a good deal.

May be a stupid question but has anyone checked the voiding the warranty thing? I mean has 100% confirmation that grinding that front bit voids the entire warranty? Or is there a blanket rule about touchin the chassis? Might be worth looking into (before you ask, I cbf'd myself).

Car modded - warranty gone. Even without a tune (why would you do a cooler without it really) I still think she'd be gone. And the potential insurance woes for chopping up the bar is the icing mate. I wrote off my mechanical warranty with 3,000ks on it. Knew it, but wanted it tuned.

From what I have seen in the past, the PWR does not cool as well as the Nizpro cools on the FG, but that is not using accurate testing equipment just logging what the OBD2 is seeing. But remember the PWR bolted in place with no cutting.

I will have a FG ProcessWest stage 3 shortly to fit and tune, but the cooler will not be fitted with the Boss's to test like I have had PWR fit on Bels cooler.

We will eventaully be fitting a larger cooler on Bels car and when I decide which one I use I will ask for it to be fitted with the test Boss's so I can get more info

It's a no brainer that you can get better performing coolers and some possibly cheaper. However, the PWR product has a place and I'm happy to pay a little extra for a cooler that's factory fit standard and provides much better performance than the original. I'm not chasing big power. I had 265rwkw with stock injectors - maybe a bit more now with the V8 air box. With this cooler and maybe injectors, I'm hoping to get around 280 but without the temp swings that have robbed performance over the past couple of weeks. That and piss the rubber hoses off for reliability :sold:

Which - Bomber - was my aim exactly. No cutting intercooler upgrade for the Brisbane heat, induction pipe upgrade to handle some psi, dump, cat and exhaust, injectors, LSD, tune, lowered onto some SSLs, and I'm done. @310rw on the PTE dyno (read conservative), no dramatic stress on the box, and a car that will last well in the long run. And now that I've at last worn out the Dunflops, and got some FK452s on it - I'm laughing. Exactly what the project set out to do has been achieved, and I'm de happy chappy. :spoton:

There'll always be room in the market for an option like this - not for everyone - but for more than some might like to admit....?

 I do think ratter's stats will surprise. The 'little' cooler might just punch above its weight me thinks.

Wise words and true Johnny.

Your approach to modding your ride is a great example that many should sit up and take notice of.

You are obviously modding to please YOU and no one else for your own reasons not to win a pub or internet pissing contest and you'll end up with a wicked ride the equal and or better that many out there.

This is the exact philosophy that I try to follow and I detest people that have the mentality where they have to have what everyone else claims is "the ducks nuts" or your cars crap.

Cheers

But his entire warranty is still void anyway yeah?

So far I see extensive modification to engine, running gear, suspension etc.. etc..

But the chassis will be Ok spoton.gif
