We will rarely make fun of you. lolMate I had a NA BA II and had shudder ALL the time. Put it in for service, they'd machine the disks and 3 weeks later, same thiong. There are some simple things. When you stop at the lights dont keep your foot on the brake so hots spots dont appear. But that's just crap. They are porrly designed and you cant escape it.Everyone here will tell you basicaly the same...get rid of them and put some DBA rotors on. The standard calipers should be ok with some decent pads. I dont use the DBAs myself but everyone raves about them.Even if you dont go DBAs and just get some replacement non ford rotors, this will more than likely fix it.Have a hunt around in the brakes section and youll see lots of discussions on brakes and pads and rotors. If your not going to upgrade to Brembos, or APs or PBR-ms like me, then change your rotors.Oh and by the way, Fords "permanent" fix for mine was to fit pads, so soft, my wheels went black in a day.Hope this helps. Havent heard of the dimpled ones. But have heard cross drilled crack but I dont think its common. Its quite possible that the replacement rotors you got suffered the same fate as the standard ones and as is mentioned, the standard pads are crap.I would definately try a set of DBA rotors. Match them with the right pads and youll be sweet.Sounds like you may be a heavy braker like I am. that's alot of problems from rotors. How many ks has the car done? Now its around 10,000kms later and my discs seem to be buggered.. When braking from mostly high speed I get wicked shudder..I'd go BDa rotors and bendix ultimate pads and you should be fine. How many ks has the car done?Hi again Rudiger. The car has only done 150.000km and I am the first to jump on people who leave braking till the last moment and then jump on them I would have to discribe me in the scheme of things as a light to moderate brake user so I dont think it is that but what I dont understand is why the BA ford has so much trouble with the front brakes I just sold an old toyota townace van I had since new and it had 780.000km on the clock with the origenal rotors on the front never been machined just changed pads when they wore out and this has been the theme for the disk brakes on most cars I have owned so why the BA ford do you have any ideas. Different car though and a lot more weight I'm tipping. All to do with the rotors though. I had dreadful problems with mine. I don't think it makes a different on these things if you are a late or early braker. You certainly have had a bad trot from the sounds of things. All I can tell you is that I got a set of cheap ass slotted rotors off ebay for my BA and never looked back to be honest.I think they cost be $250 and I fitted them myself but that was after Ford had put the soft pads on.It is a know fault with them though and a lot of guys have been hit with the same fault. Its not isolated. The diff buse and IRS setup is a joke in a lot of peoples eys. So its not just brakes. Sorry I can't help you more.
