Hey guys.

So I bought a used fg xr6 the other week, with 60k on the clock. It's been running perfect since I purchased it.

However, when I got home from work today and turned off the engine, I noticed that coolant was pouring out of the car. Opening the bonnet, there was coolant pouring from under the white box like thing on the left of the engine where you fill up the coolant. It was literally pouring out like a tap until it was empty.

Does anyone know what this might be? the drive home was about half an hour, and the whole drive the engine was sitting at normal temp, just under halfway.

I filled up the coolant holder with water and started the car up, and nothing was coming out. I drove it around the block a few times for about 10 mins, turned off the car and nothing happened.

Weird :S I'm getting it towed to the ford dealership tommorow to check it out, still under warranty so it should be sweet, but yeah, just checking if this has happened to anyone else?

sounds like pressure built up and the pressure seal on the cap went off.

I know coolant was coming from the bottom of the overflow but was it flowing from the seal in the cap on top and draining through the whole in the middle? or actually coming from one of the connected pipes?
