So I've been looking around at lowered fg xr6's to get some inspiration for my new purchase. I came across this pic:

Can any suspension experts on here have a guess at what set up is going on here? Can you get this low with just springs?

I have a bout 2k to spend, and want to get as low as possible!

Cheers

Looks like psi40l or whatever it is?

SSLs up front and SSSLs compressed anninch in the back would sit like that, for under a thousand all up.

2k would get you close to coilovers, but don't know if they go that low in these things?

Agreed but ride quality would be sh*t or non existent without shocks so do it properly or you will regret it.

Awesome, thanks for the responses

I definitely want to do it properly, and minimize the loss of ride quality as much as possible.

So theoretically I could chuck in some springs, with shorter shocks, and compress the rear springs? Does compressing weaken the springs at all?

Sorry I'm new at this!

Id say try the SSL, SSSL combo first and see what you think then if it's not low enough compress the rears.

I have that combo, yesterday I took a friend for a drive and he also had a drive, he has a stock g6et mine lowered with above mentioned springs rears cold compressed fronts modified, he had stock 19's stock car I also have 20's, I his own words.... it rides nicer than mine on pretty much all roads other than sharp jolts and the steering is amazing compared to mine.... dunno about the steering bit though... but it doesn't ride too badly.... until you have 5 fat people in the car then the stock shocks show up

Just run it on the bump stops, or install some airbag suspension. Then you lower it and raise it as you need.

Won get away with an engineered bag setup for 2k, try closer to 8-9k.

Running on the bump stops feel horrible, worst ride ever. But will look good.

If you want it proper slammed ssl sssl combo won't keep you happy.

SSL front SSSL rear FTW! Perfect ride height and squats down nicely under load :launch:
