So I'm guessing anyone who drives a manual XR6T or F6 or GT etc etc, have their own techniques when launching their vehicles. Im simply starting this topic to ask those manual drivers, how do u launch you car down the 1/4 mile?I'm heading to the SA "man camp" haha long story short, it's a 1/4 event haha.... and it's my first time down the mile with my XR6T and was hoping for a couple of tips form you car enthusiasts who have run 1/4 events in the past! so tell use your technique and the way u tackle the 1/4! Been pretty lucky actually, glad I only has 300kw.If you slip it until you feel it move and then just go, by the time the clutch is out and throttle is planted the car should have taken off already. Also I always let the other person go first, most cars at calder park are v8s with no exhaust so you cant hear your own car. Ild try using 1/2 throttle off the line, with 23psi in the tyres it'll hook like nothing you've felt before though. Once it's rolling just tramp it through the gears. Then you've gotta decide weather to change into 5th or rev 4th to limiter. Good luck.
