howesy Member 30 Member For: 18y 4m 26d Posted 14/02/11 11:52 PM Author Share Posted 14/02/11 11:52 PM I once asked the service manager (same dealer as my issue should have learnt my lesson but they said it had changed) anyway asked him to do a cylinder leak down test on my engine after it broke valve springs and they told me to drive it another 100km rather than have it towed (ford pay) This idiot said he wasnt going to do it because he wasnt prepared to pull the heads off. Well I'd really like to see the test done with no heads on. Worst part is FPV gave me this message when I rang back to see what was happening apparently when you ring FPV you are talking to a phone jockey who may know nothing about cars except how to get in.Been a Ford man over 30 years but they could learn a lot from Expensive Daewoo in marketing and customer service

howesy Member 30 Member For: 18y 4m 26d Posted 07/03/11 10:49 AM Author Share Posted 07/03/11 10:49 AM Just an update, No way no how was the dealer going to acknowledge what they had done let alone apologise for the damage so I wrote to Ford Australia CEO and today I got a phone call from Melbourne. They have assigned me a case officer and they are contacting the dealer principle at the dealer involved and taking up the issue and are arranging for the repair of my car through a different dealership. Guest XR09 Guests Posted 07/03/11 11:31 AM Share Posted 07/03/11 11:31 AM Well there is a start. At least they are doing something. At least they (Ford) are contacting customers with a complaint. And even from a letter. I still don't see why you have to run around to another dealer though. They should be the ones that fix it and give an apology. You shouldn't have to be running around town because they are useless. There is so little money in a new car for them you would think the SERVICE DEPARTMENT would be just that. That's their gravy. Where they can make a decent buck. They have the techs that are meant to be trained for the car. They have the line strait to Fords tech dept. Yet they seem to constantly bite the hand that feeds them. If my mechanic can do my car for $75 an hour and give me a full written report. Why the hell cant they ??? My last minor was $140 bucks all up. Brake fluid does not lift paint anymore. So I am not sure what would do that. Still if it was not like it before you took it in, then it does not matter what did it. Just fix it FFS
howesy Member 30 Member For: 18y 4m 26d Posted 07/03/11 11:38 PM Author Share Posted 07/03/11 11:38 PM I guess you saw the photos of where the paint lifted, I only presume it was brake fluid as it was oily in texture and obviously had corrosive properties. As for the dealer I made it quite clear to Ford head office that I wanted the apology from the dealer but no way no how did I want anyone in that dealership ever touching my car again as this is not the first issue I have had with this dealer but I had been assured it had changed (obviously not)

I think they were a bit like it from new actually. Still work but gone milky and sorta look like the lenses are smoked. Anyhoo, rang them today and old mate said yep, common fault. Cool, can you order me in some then? No, we'll need to access and determine if it's normal 'wear and tear'. Um, WTF. These f*ckers have no idea about customer service and the value of a 'brand'. If you admit that it's a fault and replace them regularly, why do this sh*t? So I have to bring the car down for some dick to confirm what I've already told him then bring it back again, assuming they'll actually replace them unless it's deemed I've 'worn them out' with 8K on the car! Took the car to the dealer and now they have to wait to get approval for changing two fog lights under warranty. Nuff said. schmick325 Member 67 Member For: 15y 9m 1d Posted 15/03/11 12:11 PM Share Posted 15/03/11 12:11 PM I was ripped $130 by Q Ford in Qld past week.I had that annoying rattle that occurs in the FG Turbo ute, goes away when u pull up the handbrake. Anyway, it was 'fixed' about 9 months ago at a Ford dealer in Burwood Vic as I was living there at the time. Recently the noise came back, so at the service I asked them to rectify again.I get the bill and it's $515 for the service, including $130 for adjusting the handbrake. The noise is still there and I feel ripped as this was a warrant issue last time, apparently not now, even though I have a year left! howesy Member 30 Member For: 18y 4m 26d Posted 31/03/11 06:36 AM Author Share Posted 31/03/11 06:36 AM Well My damage to the radiator support panel paint caused by the dealer's sloppy pre-delivery (which they charge big dollars for) has been fixed at an independant panel shop with Ford Australia footing the bill but still no official apology from the dealer so here it is for you allSINCLAIR FORD at Penrith NSW Only in my opinion are the biggest pack of incompetent idiots and a bunch of oxygen thieves who cant even manage a simple apology for their own stuff up. If you go to them good luck as this is not the only issue I have had with them including alegations bought to me by one of their own staff that they were taking one of my cars out and flogging crapola out of it and had a nickname for it (the freak)Ford Austalia have been good and very apologetic and have arranged for my next service at any dealer in the country to be free of charge. (charged back to ford australia)Good outcome by Ford, the dealer should be well and truely ashamed of themself
