I had previously bought 2 new cars from Ford dealers and had nothing but heartache from any dealer I took it to it seemed they are packed with idiots or its a pre-requisite to gain employment in their service dept although I'm sure there are good ones.

I just bought my 3rd new car an FG turbo sedan and after picking it up after its pre-delivery check I noted on the way home that the tyres felt underinflated (yep they were 26lbs)had it a week now and driven it heaps so thought better check under the bonnet. Well the useless F#$Kwits struck again this time I noticed that there was an oily substance on the radiator support panel and the paint under it was lifted and shrivelled. Yep the service dept had spilled some sort of corosive (im guessing brake fluid) on the support panel and it has lifted the paint down to bare metal and now its going to rust. Whyy are these people so useless how hard can it be are they all drug F%@ked idiots or what I am at a loss 3 cars 3 bad experiences.

How have the rest of you faired with dealers

really depends on each dealer I think, I've had a fair few issues with my car but have always been impressed with the way Etheridge Ford have dealt with it, on that note some dealers are absolute tossers and I wouldnt give them the time of day (Knox Ford)... theres a few names for ya :spoton:

but your luck sounds terrible mate, not good business practice by the respective service departments at all!

Yeah dealers are getting bad...... I got mine to install the sensors for my gauges e.g oil press and exht temp....they dont me what side to get the nut welded on for the exhaust temp.....they wanted it on the motor side of turbo....didnt think it would fit but got it done and wow it didnt fit so they had to get it rewelded but felt good charging it for me...when I buy my new car ill do all servicing etc myself......they are just glorified high school drop outs that charge a %$%$# load too much.

Power Ford @ Castle Hill . I always waited whilst any warranty work was performed.

The look of expectation on the pie fetchers faces did it for me when I drove it in.

I avoid the dealer unless there is actually no other choice. In saying that I'm pretty sure the performance shop will always be first call and be able to do it if I can't.
