Lose All Electronics

Hi Guys

My car randomly loses all the electronics in the car (dash lights come on, speedo n tacho gone and sequential wont work and the car is stuck in 3rd or 4th). This happens just randomly, like it could go a week without doing it then all of a sudden it happen 5 times a day. Also recently had problems with the car "flooding" and not starting properly but after running some injector cleaner through the motor that's started to fix itself so not sure if that's related.

My local ford dealer has no idea what it could be so just wondering if anyone else has experienced any such problems and how do I fix it?

Note: I have also installed a soundsystem 14 months ago and change TPS 3 months ago but the problem has only been in the last month so I don't know if either of those things could play a role

Just a guess but check all the wires on your ICC.

If there not right all the Dash lights cone on and no speedo tacho, so one might be faulty?

Yea I played around with all electrical connections, inside the front kick panels as well as all the relays and other connections under the bonnet and so far so good, just wait and see I guess

Problem has been re-occurring lately and ford said they can't find what's wrong unless I take it to them whilst its happening which I haven't yet been able to do.

So the problem is progressive in that the D symbol comes on on the dash and I lose my senquential. The speedo and rev tacho also stop working. Then the lights on the dash come on. Then the cd player locks me out. Then once I turn the car off and try turn it back on the car won't start.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be or have they heard of a similar problem with another car?

Hopefully its logged some codes mate,so a code test would be the first thing to do... If you want to check a few things yourself you can check.... If its a BA/BF...Theres an earth behind the left hand kickpanel but up a little,that is common for coming loose or being sh*tty. This earth is for your ecu and abs module so is an important one. Make sure your battery terminals are spotless and I mean remove them and clean them thoroughly. Check the positive lug nuts in the underbonnet fuse box and also make sure the earths on the drivers side chassis rail and the earth from the engine to chassis is clean and tight. Check your battery condition and see if the concern happens if you dont use your stereo,just incase its drawing current away from the more important stuff. Make sure your Alternator is charging good too. Make sure your ecu connectors are fully home and that the holding lever is fully pushed up. Also pull the connectors apart behind the passenger headlight and clean them with some electrical cleaner and check the tightness of the earths behind both headlights. Theres more but they are the most common.
